About us
Loving Christ, Loving people…it’s what we’re about at First Christian Church. We hope you will be just as excited as we are about the work God is doing here at First Christian Church, High Point. We would absolutely love for you and your family to become a part of our family here at FCC. This church exists to win people to Christ, train those who give their life to Christ, and to serve Christ by serving everyone.

First Christian is not about organized religion; we are all about relationships. Our ministries are intentionally designed to connect people to Christ and to one another. Each Sunday, people of different races, different education levels, different backgrounds, and different personalities are drawn together by a love for inspiring worship, preaching from the Word of God, meaningful fellowship, and most importantly a chance to commune with God.

Worship service
Our Worship service begins at 11:00 AM, and includes contemporary music, a time of communion with our Lord, and step by step preaching of God’s Word. The Dress code is comfort, whether for you that is t-shirts and blue jeans or suit and tie we want you to feel at home!  This is our Father's House and He has His arms open wide.  Come experience the love of Christ as we seek to be His hands and feet.

Our Sunday morning worship time begins with contemporary music performed by our talented praise band.  These individuals have been greatly blessed by God and love to turn the talents He has given them back to praise.  The weekly sermon is typically delivered by our senior minister, Dean Tsiolkas.   Dean's teaching style is a verse by verse study with a focus on how we can apply God's principles to our lives.

Children (nursery to elementary)
Our Sanctuary is not the only place you’ll find action during the 11:00 AM hour on Sundays- the whole building is alive! Our children’s programming runs concurrent with worship service.  Elementary and Pre-K kids can start the morning off at 10 AM at Camp KidZone with P.E./Recess and Arts & Crafts.  During the worship hour our elementary kids engage in Bible lessons and either science or drama activities.  The Pre-K kids have Bible lessons at this time as well.  Even the toddlers are getting in on the action with Bible stories, outdoor/active activities, arts and crafts, and sensory activities that help little ones discover this great big world God created.

Our nurseries and preschool classes provide a warm, loving, safe environment. But it’s much more than simple child care. All our children’s workers are trained, screened, and determined to help your child grow spiritually. Elementary kids love to worship, and our elementary programs let them do it their way! Energy abounds in children’s church, where worship, object lessons, scripture focus, and much more all combine to help kids discover Christ in a personal way. Many special events for kids happen throughout the year. And our secure “Kidcheck” check-in system ensures your child’s safety.

Middle School and High School
We love Middle School and High School aged youth here at First Christian! “Impact Student Ministries” is led by Jim Shields, who believes in sharing the love of God through dynamic and creative Christ-centered ways.  Jim recruits and trains youth sponsors, who team up with him to help the youth of our church survive and thrive during the difficult but exciting teenage years. We believe the youth are a vital part of the church of today and the church of tomorrow.  On Sundays, “Impact” meets at 10 am for in-depth discovery of what God’s Word says and means, as well as how it applies to their lives.  On Wednesdays at 7 pm, “Impact” meets for a high energy time of laughter, worship, and relevant teaching. The youth are encouraged to come early and stay a little later on Wednesday nights for fellowship time around the pool table, air hockey table, card table, or foosball table. “Impact Student Ministries” keeps service projects and mission trips at the center of who they are. Jim believes in the importance of not letting the youth become idle, and keeps them very active with summer conferences, mission trips, and a multitude of weekend events, all intentionally designed to develop young people into true followers of Jesus.

Adults continuing their spiritual journey
We believe everyone, no matter the age, has another step to take in their spiritual journey. For this reason, First Christian offers an extensive list of studies and groups for adults. On Sundays, there are Adult Bible classes at 10 am. These groups are as diverse in their personality as they are in size, but they all love studying and applying God’s Word. Through the week, there are small groups that meet in homes, coffee shops, restaurants, and the church. On Wednesday nights at 7 pm, don’t miss “ReNew”, a mid-week topical discussion using the very relevant Word of God.  The relationships that are built in these adult groups ensure that you get the best care First Christian can offer. God designed us to live in community, so pick a couple of good groups and jump in!

Mission trips
Jesus said He came to earth to serve, not to be served. First Christian Church had adopted this model, and impacts the world right outside our doors, and the world on the other side of the globe. Each year, through work teams, mission endeavors, and financial gifts, the FCC family blesses under-resourced people groups with clean water, food, medical care and safe shelter. We build clinics, run orphanages and drill wells, all in the name of Christ. God has blessed this church so that we can be a blessing to others in need.
